Garbralle Conroe, adjunct faculty for the MS in Clinical Rehabilitation and Mental Health Counseling program, has been selected for the 40 Under 40 Class of 2017 award presented by Business Street Online! Mrs. Conroe is the only Fresno State employee to be honored in the Class of 2017.
The 40 Under 40 award is granted to individuals who are under 40 years of age and have made contributions to the community and demonstrated a strong work ethic. Mrs. Conroe has made many strides forward to deserve this award, thriving on the model “each one teach one”.
In 2012 she received the Business of the Year award from Resources for Independence Central Valley for helping individuals with disabilities obtain jobs. In 2015 she received the Community Service award from Fresno City College for her outstanding work with students. Mrs. Conroe also engages in motivational speaking throughout the Central Valley and in Northern California. Additionally, she mentors students and volunteers her time speaking at different high school’s about peer pressure, making smart choices, leadership and the importance of education. Lastly, Mrs. Conroe co-authored a manuscript on the use of service-learning in building cultural competence among counseling trainees. The Kremen School is lucky to have someone so dedicated to the community!
